A SIX PART VIDEO PIECE IN RESPONSE TO SIX DISTINCT FRAGRANCES

“Flashback” by Marco Brambilla uses cinematic iconography to investigate the collective subconscious and memory mapping. The work is presented in a thirty-six block video matrix spanning six distinct phases, each representing an emotion evoked by the paired fragrance. The viewer experience is akin to that of engaging in a Rorschach test, in which each phase conjures a psychological response unique to the individual’s own personal associations. To accompany each fragrance a DVD of FLASHBACK was packaged inside of each perfume box.
